I am primarily interested in the evolutionary processes underpinning the unique biodiversity of Antarctica, where I have conducted extensive fieldwork both on land and at sea. My PhD research uncovered cryptic speciation and localised population structure in Antarctic crustaceans.
I joined the Chown Lab in 2017 as a postdoc to explore the biogeography of sub-Antarctic islands using molecular tools. My current postdoc (funded by an Australian Antarctic Science grant) is a broader review of the genetic population structure of Antarctic flora and fauna, to highlight emerging patterns and knowledge gaps and inform ongoing conservation and research priorities.
